Matthias Kitter

Matthias Kitter (born May 7, 1963 in Siegen ) is a German television and theater director .

biography

Kitter studied theater , film and television studies at the University of Cologne , graduating with a Magister Artium . After completing his studies, he was engaged at various stages, including as a director and dramaturge at the Wuppertaler Schauspielhaus and at the State Theaters of Berlin. There he worked on theater productions.

He directed over 3000 TV sketches, including in shows such as the Kurt Krömer Show (RBB), Schmidtanders (WDR), Mensch Markus and Die Wochenshow (SAT.1).

Kitter has also staged live events for artists for many years. He also worked in TV productions as a writer, producer and directed video clips for "Die Prinzen" and "Opera to Relax".

Kitter is a three-time winner of the German Comedy Prize , he received an Emmy nomination for the TV series Alt & Durchgeknallt (Sat. 1) and, as a special prize, The Golden Rose of Montreux. From 2009 to 2013 he was artistic director at the Berlin cabaret theater Die Stachelschweine and staged several show programs for the Berlin cult cabaret. In Cologne, Kitter staged Neil Simon's classic “The Last of the Fiery Lovers”, in Dresden the world premiere of the play “Flower Power”, the multimedia revue “Dietrich's Democratic Republic” and the musical “ Vom Geist der Weihnacht ” in a 2014 arena version .

Kitter lives and works in Berlin.
