Philipp Möller (* 1980 in West Berlin ) is a German author.

Life

Möller grew up as the son of a Catholic church musician from Fulda and a teacher who Möller describes as "remaining religiously Protestant". Möller has stated several times that religion hardly played a role in his upbringing, and at the age of 10 he decided not to take part in religious instruction in schools.

After graduating from high school in 1999 and doing community service in the Catholic Dominikus Hospital in Berlin-Hermsdorf, he studied pedagogy with a focus on adult education at the Free University of Berlin until 2008 . He completed this course as a qualified pedagogue.

From March 2009 to June 2011 he worked as a substitute teacher at primary schools in Berlin.

From June 2009 to June 2014 he was press officer for the Giordano Bruno Foundation , and then switched to its advisory board. From 2010 to 2012 he published a podcast in conversation with Philipp Möller , in which he interviewed atheists, agnostics and humanists on the subject of religion . Möller, Carsten Frerk and Peder Iblher started the so-called “godless” bus campaign in 2009 based on the British model . The campaign raised funds to raise awareness for religious freedom and to draw attention to discrimination against atheists .

In July 2014, together with the politician ( SPD ) and co-founder of Greenpeace Germany Monika Griefahn , the chemist and cradle-to-cradle founder Michael Braungart and the physicist Helmut Fink, he was accepted into the advisory board of the Giordano Bruno Foundation .

Möller has appeared as a participant in the talk shows Anne Will , Markus Lanz , log in , Nachtcafé , Roche & Böhmermann , nate light , Aeschbacher and maybrit illner .

In his book Isch geht Bundestag, Möller acknowledges his sympathy for the FDP and states that he works part-time for Lukas Köhler, the FDP's climate policy spokesman .

He is married and lives in Berlin with his wife and three children.
