Cajetan Koller (born November 15, 1798 in Trochtelfingen , † June 23, 1872 in Hechingen ) was a German doctor and member of the Hechingen State Deputation .

Life

Koller was the son of the Princely Fürstenberg Council and physician Xaver Koller. After his father died when he was two years old, he came to Hechingen. He later attended high schools in Rottweil and Konstanz and then studied medicine at several universities. In 1823 he was supported by the University of Tübingen Dr. med. PhD. He then settled as a doctor in Hechingen, where he became the personal physician of Prince Constantine and Princess Eugénie and was given the title of Medical Councilor. He married Maria von Bacherle, maid of the then Hereditary Princess Eugénie, who later became Princess. He founded the sulfur bath in Herrenackerstraße, today's St. Elisabeth nursing home.

Since 1835, Koller was a member of the Hechingen State Deputation, the State Parliament of the Principality of Hohenzollern-Hechingen . He was elected in 1835 in constituency I (Stetten bei Hechingen and Boll). At the constituent session of the Landtag on October 14, 1835, the Landtag elected Josef Blumenstetter (10 votes), Koller (10 votes) and Pastor Johann Baptist Diebold (9 votes) to the list of proposals for the Board of Directors (President of Parliament). The prince then appointed Koller (on the grounds that he was the eldest of the nominees) to the head of the state parliament. In addition, he was chairman of the beautification club, director of the music club and initiator of the Eugenie monument at the children's home.

The Kajetan-Koller-Weg in Hechingen is named after him.
