Johann Baptist Diebold (born April 9, 1807 in Jungingen ; † October 6, 1885 in Mindersdorf ) was a German pastor and member of the Hechingen State Deputation .

Diebold was the son of the crown landlord Diebold in Jungingen. He attended grammar school in Konstanz and then studied theology at the University of Tübingen . He was ordained priest in 1830. After the vicariate in Hechingen, he became a pastor in Thanheim . There he set up a poor fund, in which he contributed 800 guilders and which lasted until 1914.

Diebold had been a member of the Hechingen State Deputation (state parliament) since 1835 . He was elected in electoral district VII (Thanheim) in 1835. At the constituent session of the Landtag on October 14, 1835, the Landtag elected Josef Blumenstetter (10 votes), Cajetan Koller (10 votes) and Pastor Diebold (9 votes) to the list of proposals for the Board of Directors (Presidents of Parliament). The prince then appointed Koller (on the grounds that he was the eldest of the nominees) to the board of the state parliament, Blumenstetter became deputy and Diebold secretary.

Diebold was considered a seducer and was involved in several criminal proceedings. After the invasion of Prussian troops, he was arrested in autumn 1849. The royal district court in Sigmaringen later sentenced him to six months' imprisonment, which he served at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The church authorities initially suspended him as a pastor.

The investigations into high treason were conducted from 1850 to 1852 and Diebold was then banished to the Wald monastery . Later he was assigned the parish in Melchingen (1858), Einhart (1859–1869) and Mindersdorf (1870–1885). There he died on October 6, 1885. He fell out with the population everywhere and got into conflict with other clergymen.
