Michael Gantenberg (born July 22, 1961 in Bochum ) is a German screenwriter , radio and television presenter and writer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Gantenberg studied sociology . From 1984 he worked for the local WDR broadcaster “Radio Dortmund”. There he moderated the youth program Trallafitti .

From 1993 to 1996 Gantenberg hosted the youth game show Lust Faktor 10 on WDR television , followed by the interactive radio show Sonderbar on 1Live from 1997 to 2000. At the same time, he hosted the satirical magazine Extra 3 on NDR television in Hamburg . He also acted as a presenter for the WDR productions WestArt and Hollymünd .

From 2004 to 2006 Gantenberg wrote several episodes of the RTL television series Mein Leben & Ich and was also the headwriter for the docutainment format He says - She says responsible for the TV station ProSieben . As an author, he worked from 2004 to 2006 for the Great German Test hosted by Hape Kerkeling on RTL and on behalf of Sony Pictures in 2006 and 2007 for Das NRW-Duell on WDR television.

Gantenberg wrote the script for the movie U-900 (2008).

He wrote several television films with Hartmut Block , including the episodes Tausend Augen , Personal Security and the return of the ZDF series Unter Verdacht with Senta Berger .

In 2008, Michael Gantenberg wrote his first novel New Release . The audio book version was read in by Bastian Pastewka . In 2010 his second novel Between All Clouds was published .

Gantenberg acted as author and headwriter for the RTL series Nikola with Mariele Millowitsch . In 2010 he wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation of the novel No Sex is also no solution .

In 2011 Gantenberg began his work as headwriter and author of the ARD series Heiter bis tödlich: Henker & Richter on behalf of the WDR and production company EIKON . For the RBB Gantenberg wrote the ARD crime scene Everything has its price (2012). In 2012 he wrote several episodes for the second season of the ARD series Heiter bis tödlich: Morden im Norden and also acted as headwriter for the ZDF production Fatihland .

In 2013 he published the audio book and the novel Jochen as well as the crime audio book Kalt geht der Wind in collaboration with Oliver Welter.

Furthermore, Gantenberg wrote several scripts for the ZDF series Herzensbrecher and the ARD series Morden im Norden and Der Mama in 2013/2014 . In 2014 he also developed and wrote the ZDF sitcom ... and then Paula! , two feature films for the ARD series Our Dream of Canada and another episode of the ZDF crime series Unter Verdacht with the title Betongold . Since 2016 he has been one of the authors of the ARD series WaPo Bodensee .

Gantenberg is the author of the six-part mini-series Phoenixsee (2016). In 2017 he developed and wrote the 10-part web series Nachts in der Sachsenklinik for MDR - a spin-off of the ARD series In All Friendship . The second season of Phoenixsee followed in 2019, with Gantenberg also authoring all six episodes.

Private

Gantenberg lives with his wife and two children in Soest and Berlin .
