criticism

The Berlin-based Polish Karolina Kuszyk from ZEIT stated that Magda is already doing it! break up some clichés, but reproduce them again elsewhere. Nevertheless, she is benevolent towards the series. "At least Magda gives a face to the many foreign women who work hard and mostly underpaid in the social sector in this country," says Kuszyk.

Christian Buß from SPIEGEL classifies the series as a trash comedy, with whose “not sensitive” punch lines “RTL invented the genre of the Polish-German precariat joke”. Because the advertising customers preferred an unrealistic “RTL giggle cosmos” instead of exhausting politics and social problems.

The Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza dealt with the series in a supplement. The focus was on the real situation of nursing staff. Agnieszka Satoła, sociologist at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences , also had a say in it: “The German wages give them [the Polish nursing staff] financial independence. They go through processes of emancipation that their mothers and grandmothers never experienced. For many of the women I spoke to, this changed the hierarchy of their relationship with their families. Some of them decided to get a divorce. ”Magda from the series also has a different view of her fatherland due to the German income:“ When I return home, I have a bathroom with a tub and shower installed. Bigger and more beautiful than yours in Germany. "
