Peggy Lukac

Peggy Lukac (born June 18, 1949 in New York City ) is an American actress , director , comedian and fashion designer .

Life

education

Born in New York, Peggy Lukac grew up in Vienna and made Berlin her adopted home from 1972 before completing a degree in theater studies in Vienna . In Berlin she made a name for herself as an actress and director.

theatre

From 1972 to 1981 she was a co-founder of the Theatermanufaktur Berlin . She played theater from 1983 to 1995, a. a. at the Freie Volksbühne Berlin , at the Renaissance Theater , Schillertheater and Schlosspark Theater (7 years), at the Berliner Arbeiter-Theater (bat) , at the tribune , at the Grips-Theater , at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm , at the Sophiensælen and in several off Projects (all Berlin). From 1980 to 1995 she made three solo productions; 1986 first theater production of piano games by Friederike Roth . In 1989 she founded the theater project TiefenEntTrümmerung , which she directed with Ingrid Hammer until 1995. She has headed Peggy Lukac & Company since 1996 . The productions Die Affäre Rue de Lourcine (1996) and the Comedy in the Dark (1997) - both at the Altenburg-Gera Theater - followed.

Since 2003 she has worked as a director and actress in collaboration with transalpin . In 2003 she was the director of the theater and film program for the Jewish Culture Days.

Private and design store

Peggy Lukac fell ill with breast cancer in 2010, and in 2012 she opened her first shop in Berlin for kimonos and scarves with fabrics from Japan, Africa and Azerbaijan. After she got the engagement for the role of Inge Ebinger in the telenovela Rote Rosen (broadcast from 2013 to 2016) and moved to the set in Lüneburg for it, she transferred her shop to a befriended make-up artist. Soon after she thought the cancer was cured in early 2014, she fell ill again and has been under continuous treatment ever since. In June 2016, after leaving Rote Rosen , she reopened a fabric and design shop in Berlin under the name Peggy Lukac Design, with fabrics from different cultures.

Peggy Lukac met her husband Gustav in the mid-1980s at the Schillertheater, where he worked as a lighting master. They have a property together with a country house in Lünow , where her husband lives permanently and she lives in a long-distance relationship at times. Her husband and family were and are her support: “My husband was by my side the whole time, took care of me, encouraged me and left absolutely no doubt that I would conquer cancer.
