occupation

Head Over Head is a German television series for children and young people that ZDF produced from 1986 with a total of 34 episodes of 30 minutes each and a pilot film. The first broadcast took place from December 1987 to 1991 on ZDF. The series played in West Berlin .

action

The episodes mostly dealt with the disappearance of a child who is then found again under chaotic and amusing circumstances. The corresponding theme song Oh Schreck, Oh Schreck, das Kind ist weg was sung by Isabel Varell .

The cast in the roles of the children and their parents changed with the episodes. Fixed occupations, however, were z. B. Charlotte Matthiesen and Michael Schönborn as married couple Wurzel.

Wolfgang Gruner played the most prominent role as police chief dog ("dog, dog like cat"), who was involved in the missing persons cases and usually increased the general confusion in his attempts to clarify the situation. At least one arrest per episode was compulsory, each with the words “That won't be cheap!”, As well as his company car, a Citroën 2CV , with the distinctive inscription “Polente”.

Charisma

The half-hour episodes were broadcast on the ZDF Saturday afternoon program. Repetitions of the current episode were shown in the following week.

reception

“The stories always had the same structure, and the parents shown were always equally dismissive: They ignored the disturbing children, sent them away, the children actually ran away and the parents didn't even notice at first. Then they regretted their behavior and apologized when they saw each other. Isabel Varell blared the quoted title song and was featured in the opening credits. "
