Thomas Freundner
Thomas Freundner (* 1961 in Dülmen ) is a German film director and screenwriter .
Life
Freundner studied at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts , where he graduated in 1989 with a degree in film. This was followed by a master’s degree and from 1992 to 1994 a degree in directing in the advanced film course at the University of Hamburg . During his studies, Freundner made several short and documentary films. His documentary Sehnsucht nach Bitterfeld received the audience award at the documentary film festival Nyon in 1992 . His children's short film The Undead from the First Floor was awarded the Golden Sparrow in Gera in 1995 .
Thomas Freundner has directed television films for various German broadcasters since 1996 , including numerous episodes of Tatort . For the HR crime scene heart failure , Freundner was awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize 2005 and the German Television Crime Prize. In 2005 he was allowed to enter himself in the Golden Book of the Schwielowsee community . The film Das gutte Glück , produced for Südwestrundfunk , received the TV beaver at the Biberach Film Festival 2010. Freundner wrote the script himself for some of his films, such as the comedies Bettis Bescherung and Juli mit Delfin .
Thomas Freundner is married to the German actress Kathrin Freundner and has three daughters.
