Billy Kuckuck - Eine gute Mutter is a German drama from 2019 . It is the second part of the television series of the same name.

action

Billy Kuckuck is a bailiff from Mainz . As part of a foreclosure , in a moment of inattention, a little boy steals her bag with documents, ID cards and cash.

The boy turns out to be a responsible family member who supports his mentally disadvantaged mother in her everyday life. In the further course of the action, the boy is supposed to be taken away from his mother by the youth welfare office in order to bring him to a youth home, since the office does not trust the mother to be able to raise her child properly. At this point, Billy Kuckuck comes back into play, because the mother has not paid a bill. At this point the bailiff realizes that the child's mother can neither read nor write properly, and certainly does not know how to handle money. With the help of his mother, she hides the child from the youth welfare office and illegally takes part in his birthday party.

Billy Kuckuck intervenes in the court hearing against the will of her superior and enables himself to enter and speak to the responsible family judge , at which the representative of the youth welfare office is also present.

Ultimately, their partly illegal measures were successful; the judge decides that the boy can stay with his mother.

Production notes

The film is based on a real story. The producers stated that while researching, they came across a similar real-life case. The Cologne bailiff, Claudia Giegler-Linde, told them about a boy whom the youth welfare office removed from his familiar surroundings and brought him to a home. The boy was so unhappy about this fact that he fled the home and walked long distances to be with his parents again.
