Aglaia Szyszkowitz (pronunciation: [ˈʃɪʃkovɪt͡s] ; born January 11, 1968 in Graz ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

From 1987 to 1990 Szyszkowitz trained at the drama school of the Vienna Volkstheater . This was followed by five seasons on the municipal theaters of Krefeld , Würzburg and Münster . There Aglaia Szyszkowitz a. a. the Helena in Faust II , Viola in Twelfth Night , the maid Ida in running but not getting away and Janet in the Rocky Horror Show .

Szyszkowitz made her television debut in 1995 with a small supporting role in the series A Lot of Life . She played her first major role in 1997 as Patricia in the TV thriller Buddies - Life in the Fast Lane at Jürgen Vogel's side . Her breakthrough came in the following year as a film partner of Heino Ferch in the movie comedy 2 Men, 2 Women - 4 Problems !? in which she portrayed an abandoned wife under the direction of Vivian Naefe .

From 2000 to 2013 Szyszkowitz was on ZDF up to twice a year as Commissioner Jenny Berlin . The first two episodes of the crime series were also called Jenny Berlin , and since the third episode it has been shown under the title Mission in Hamburg . Another success was the children's film Das Sams . In it, Szyszkowitz played Margarete März, who was adored by the main character Bruno Taschenbier ( Ulrich Noethen ) . The movie won the Bavarian Film Prize in 2001 .

In 2004, Szyszkowitz shot the television production The Death Tunnel - Only Truth Counts in her hometown Graz , in which she played the main role of the public prosecutor Sabine Fink . In 2005 she starred as Mizzi at the side of John Malkovich in the international cinema production Klimt (directed by Raúl Ruiz ).

Aglaia Szyszkowitz is the daughter of a trauma surgeon and a psychotherapist. Her younger sister Roswitha Szyszkowitz (* 1972) also worked as an actress until 2007.

Szyszkowitz began after the graduation at the Academic Gymnasium in Graz a medical degree . After suffering from severe hepatitis , she finally turned to acting . She has been married since 1992 and has two sons. The family lives in a southern suburb of Munich.
