Roswitha Szyszkowitz (pronunciation: [ˈʃɪʃkovɪt͡s] ; born February 1, 1972 in Hanover ) is a former Austrian actress who now works as a teacher .

Life

Roswitha Szyszkowitz is the daughter of the trauma surgeon Rudolf Szyszkowitz and the psychotherapist Traudl Szyszkowitz. The actress Aglaia Szyszkowitz is her older sister.

Szyszkowitz grew up in Graz . After studying acting at the Vienna Conservatory and HB Studio in New York City , she began her first engagement at the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken. There she played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Nina in Anton Chekhov's comedy Die Möwe . In 1997 she received the drama award from the Friends of the Saarland State Theater for The Artificial Silk Girl . She has lived in Vienna since 1999 and works as a freelance actress. She had engagements at the Volkstheater in Vienna and independent theaters such as the TAG Theater , the Wiener Lustspielhaus and the Drachengasse Theater . She also gave poetry lectures at events such as the Styrian Chamber Music Festival in Graz.

In addition to her theater career, Szyszkowitz was also seen on television. Among other things, she played the group inspector Stefanie Gschnitzer at the side of chief inspector Moritz Eisner ( Harald Krassnitzer ) in two Tatort episodes . In 2006 she took part in the Perfect Celebrity Dinner in Vienna.

After her acting career, Szyszkowitz studied at the Vienna University of Education and has been working as a secondary school teacher since 2010. She has three children.
