Harald Krassnitzer (born September 10, 1960 in Grödig near Salzburg ) is an Austrian actor and presenter . He became known for the title role of Dr. Justus Hallstein in the ZDF series Der Bergdoktor and the role of crime scene commissioner Moritz Eisner , which he has played since 1999.

Harald Krassnitzer grew up in Grödig in the Salzburg region . His father was a locksmith, his mother worked in a candy factory. At the age of ten he made his first stage appearance in a shepherd's play .

After graduating from high school , Krassnitzer completed an apprenticeship as a forwarding agent and his acting training at the Elisabeth stage in Salzburg , where he was engaged from 1984 to 1988. After that he played for two years at the Schauspielhaus Graz . For one year each he was engaged at the Vienna Volkstheater and at the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken . He worked in stage plays such as Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt , Heiner Müller's Die Hamletmaschine , Sophocles ' King Oedipus , Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust I and Faust II or Friedrich Schiller's Die Räuber .

In 1993 Krassnitzer made his television debut in the television series Die Oase , in which he took on the role of Dieter Krause. In 1996 he then took on his first permanent series role in the ZDF series Der Bergdoktor , where he won the Dr. Justus Hallstein embodied. In Miguel Alexandre's film drama The Pact - When Children Kill (1996), he made his film debut in the role of family father Dieter Koll, who sexually abuses his son Nikolas ( Daniel Brühl ) , who is 15 years old . In 2001 he played the riding stable owner Bernhard Bausch in the ARD television film Alone Among Men , in which the young veterinarian Dr. Tana Fechner (Ann-Kathrin Kramer) in love. In Jo Baier's German-Austrian television film Stauffenberg (2004), he played Erich Fellgiebel, the German news troop general and resistance fighter of July 20, 1944 . From 2016 to 2017 he was seen together with Ann-Kathrin Kramer in the ARD film series Parents alone at home as the Schröder couple. In the ARD television film Wedding in Rome (2017) he was seen as the father of the Cologne-based architect Max Hauser, who fell in love with the attractive waitress Bianca D'Arcadia from Rome.

At the end of January 2020 it was announced that Krassnitzer would be in front of the camera as Rupert Althammer for a cameo in the winter special of the series Der Bergdoktor, which was reissued with Hans Sigl in 2008 . In April 2020 he was seen as judge Hans Bachleitner in the episode Small Cases of the ZDF comedy series Über Land .

He is co-owner of Blinklicht , a production company for mobile television that he founded in Vienna with two friends from his youth.

Krassnitzer also acts as a moderator. In the 1998 Licht-ins-Dunkel gala he co- hosted alongside Peter Rapp . In the summer of 1999, Krassnitzer presented the film series Wunderland, a personal declaration of love to Austria, in which he presented his favorite music and his favorite regions. Since 2014 he has been moderating the ORF pre-Christmas program Magical Christmas in the Land of Silent Night together with Sonja Weissensteiner .

Together with Ann-Kathrin Kramer, Krassnitzer shows volunteer work for the Dunkelziffer association , which works for sexually abused children. In addition, he is committed to the relief organization Austria International and to the victim protection organization Weißer Ring . For the social association he was seen on posters and in interviews in 2016 as part of a campaign together with other Tatort actors.

Harald Krassnitzer is a social democrat and regularly supports SPÖ campaigns .

Private

Since 1999 he has been with the German actress Ann-Kathrin Kramer , whom he met while filming Hurenmord - Ein Priester is silent . On July 7th, 2009 the couple got married after ten years of relationship on a ship on the Danube in the Wachau . They live together in Wuppertal and in Krassnitzer's adopted home Mieming in Tyrol .
