Paul Kemp is a mediator and therefore the contact person for the problems of the people who visit him in his practice. His clients come from all walks of life with their affairs. But as resourceful and agile as Paul Kemp deals with the conflicts of others, he finds it difficult to deal with the conflicts in his life. Because gradually everything seems to get out of hand. So he has to deal with his wife Ella's affair with his neighbor Christian, reconcile himself with his brother Luis at the request of his mother Franziska and learn to understand his pubescent son Tim. In addition, Paul has problems with his practice partner Mark Braun, who first overindebted the company and then runs away. A short-term relationship with Lisa turns into a long-term disaster. And Paul's wife finds out about a pregnancy in which she doesn't know who the father is: her husband or the lover?

Loyal and helpful person at Paul Kemp's side is his colleague Brigitte Mitlehner in all professional and private difficulties. In addition, there is the somewhat quirky but ingenious angular lawyer Rudi Schober. During the course of the series, he and his colleague have to move into his office after his practice has been cleared and confiscated by the bailiff. But Kemp also solves that with a lot of humor and it's "no problem at all".
