Johannes Zeiler (born April 29, 1970 in Vorau , Styria ) is an Austrian actor .

Live and act

Johannes Zeiler studied German and history in Graz and completed an acting degree at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . He had some engagements a. at the Landestheater Coburg , the stages of the state capital Kiel, at the Theater Phönix in Linz, at the Ensemble Theater Wien , Theater im Bahnhof in Graz and at the Theater der Jugend in Vienna. From 1999 to 2002 he was also a member of Peter Stein's Faust Ensemble . From the 2010/11 season he was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Wien .

Johannes Zeiler also works as a film and television actor. The highlight of his career so far is certainly the title role in the Faust film by Alexander Sokurov , filmed in 2009 in the Czech Republic and Iceland . The world premiere took place during the 68th Venice International Film Festival , where Faust was awarded the main prize, the Golden Lion . Since 2012 he has been in front of the camera as part of the main cast for the ORF series Cop Stories .

In the feature film alias Holec (2016) he played the then ORF television director Helmut Zilk , in Wackersdorf (2018) he played the role of the Schwandorf district administrator Hans Schuierer , who fought against the Wackersdorf reprocessing plant .
