Surrounded by uncoordinated police troops, helplessly at the mercy of their own tensions, everyone involved is electrified.

Reviews

The film was received with displeasure by some critics. However, there were mostly positive reactions. Peter Zander wrote in Die Welt : “ Unter Strom becomes increasingly hair-raising , the title of which is anything but an understatement. Director Zoltan Paul succeeds here, which is rather the exception in Germany, a shrill genre comedy ”, in which film buffs could“ recognize film quotations ”. The Berlin TIP judged: “Zoltan Paul manages the difficult feat of bringing together sophisticated puns and brutal slapstick. The result is an amazingly pleasurable farce, which is completely in the tradition of the classic screwball comedies . ”The Münchner Abendzeitung of July 2, 2009 describes the film as“ [m] utig, funny, weird ”and also remarks:“ Who has a bit of a sense for extreme jargon, has a great time with Unter Strom . "

Daniel Sander, on the other hand, criticizes the screenplay and the dialogues in the Spiegel , which alternated between boulevard-theater-swank and striving Tarantino-coolness, which does not go well together because the film lacks the coolness for the corresponding images. Carsten Tritt only notices stereotypes and clichés, which combined with the predictability of the script only created boredom, and Robert Zimmermann from critic.de notes that something is fundamentally wrong: “Beat for beat, setting for setting, it becomes clear that between the characters is scenic hardly any relationships arise ”, which leads to every cinematic flow of contradicting triviality.
