Uli Brée

Uli Brée , actually Ulrich Brée , (* 1964 in Dinslaken , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German - Austrian screenwriter , director and actor .

Life

After completing a clown training at the School of Fools in Amsterdam, Uli Brée completed an acting training at the Krauss Drama School in Vienna . In 1986 he founded the cabaret group Statt-Theater together with Klaus Pieber and Bernhard Sordian , to which the cabaret artist and actress Andrea Händler belonged from 1989 . With Bernhard Sordian he wrote the cabaret program Men Pain , with Klaus Pieber Women Pain . He has been working for ORF since 1995 and, together with Rupert Henning, is the author of numerous scripts for films and television series such as Four Women and a Death. Uli Brée developed the character of Bibi Fellner in the Austrian Tatort. He has been writing the ORF series Vorstadtweiber since 2015.

The 100th birthday of the Steiff teddy bear was celebrated in Giengen in 2002 with the world premiere of the musical Teddy - a musical dream by Uli Brée. Brée also provided artistic advice on the planning of the Steiff Museum . Together with the illustrator Michael Schober , he wrote three children's books in the Mein Freund Knopf series in 2006 and 2007 .

Brée lives (2014) with his children in Mieming in Tyrol .

At the beginning of 2018 he was granted Austrian citizenship. In March 2018, the state theater piece “ No fear of heights - 13 women stories based on the text by Uli Brée” premiered in the Innsbruck greenhouse .
