The 2010 Romy Awards took place on April 17, 2010 in the Vienna Hofburg . The Romy was awarded for the twenty-first time.

For the first time, the winners in the categories "Best Screenplay for Cinema", "Best Book for TV Film", "Best Camera TV Film", "Best TV Documentation" and "Best Cinema Documentation" were made by the newly founded ROMY Academy , to which all 259 previous Romy Prize winners belong. A preliminary jury consisting of the journalists Rudolf John ( courier , jury chair), Angelika Hager (courier leisure and profil ), Frido Hütter ( Kleine Zeitung ), Thomas Jorda ( NÖN ), Susanne Rössler (courier) and Hadubrand Schreibershofen ( tv- media ) created a three-way proposal in each category, from which the academy members selected the winners.
