Martin Gschlacht
Martin Gschlacht (* 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cameraman and co-founder of the Viennese film production company coop99 .
Life
Martin Gschlacht studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business before completing the camera assistant course at the graphic teaching and research institute in Vienna and working as a cameraman for music videos, short films and commercials. He then studied camera and production at the Vienna Film Academy , where he received his Mag. Art. completed. In 1998 he founded Martin Gschlacht Filmproduktion together with Valentin Hitz and Markus Wogrolly , with which they made several short films. In 1999 he founded the Viennese film production company coop99 with the directors Barbara Albert , Antonin Svoboda and Jessica Hausner , who already worked together at the Vienna Film Academy and knew each other well . But he continues to work for other film projects. Since 2008 he has been teaching at the Vienna film college .
In the competition at the Venice International Film Festival 2009 two films were shown in which Gschlacht was responsible for the camera work: Shirin Neshat's Women Without Men and Jessica Hausner's Lourdes .
In 2009 Martin Gschlacht founded the Academy of Austrian Films together with other Austrian filmmakers and is also a member of its board.
