Winner of the Austrian Film Prize 2017

The presentation of the Austrian Film Awards 2017 by the Academy of Austrian Films took place on February 1, 2017 in the Vienna City Hall. The nominations were announced on December 14, 2016. A total of 20 feature films, 21 documentaries and 18 short films were submitted. The drama Thank You for Bombing received most of the nominations , the film was nominated in a total of eight categories, followed by Egon Schiele: Death and Maiden and Cat with five nominations each. An innovation has been made in the award in the Best Documentary Film category , which is awarded not only to the producer but also to the director.

On January 25, 2017, the evening of the nominees took place in the Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt , moderated by Katharina Mückstein and Christoph Dostal .
