Maresi Riegner (* 1991 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress .
Life
Maresi Riegner studied acting at the Conservatory Vienna Private University from 2013 (since November 2015 Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna ), she graduated in 2017.
Movie and TV
She made her film debut in 2012 in Endlich Weltendung by director Barbara Gräftner , and in 2013 she appeared in Bad Fucking by Harald Sicherheitsitz . In 2014 she played in Tatort and CopStories , and in the television film Eine Liebe für den Frieden she impersonated Marie von Suttner , the niece of Nobel Peace Prize winner Bertha von Suttner. She had her first leading role in the film drama Uns geht es gut by director Henri Steinmetz , which was released in German cinemas in January 2016. She had another leading role in Egon Schiele: Death and the Maiden , where she played Gerti Schiele, Egon Schiele's younger sister. In 2016 she stood in front of the camera for Barbara Albert's film Licht .
In 2020 she was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize for the best young actors for her role in Somewhere is also good (director: Christian Werner).

In October 2016 she played her first leading role at the theater as Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker by William Gibson at Theater im Zentrum , the second venue of the Theater der Jugend, directed by Sandra Cervik . In May 2017 she premiered at the Theater in der Josefstadt as Hedvig in Henrik Ibsen's Die Wildente . In 2018 she made her debut at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt as Cecily in Ernst ist das Leben (Bunbury) and at the Theater an der Wien as Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream by Benjamin Britten. In June and July 2018 she appeared again as Cecily Cardew in Ernst ist das Leben (Bunbury) by Elfriede Jelinek based on Oscar Wilde at the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Games, directed by Michael Sturminger .
At the Salzburg Festival she made her debut in 2017 in Kasimir and Karoline in a version by 600 HIGHWAYMEN , 2019, she starred in the summer guests of Maxim Gorky at the side of Marie-Lou Sellem as Marya Lvovna whose daughter Sonja. In October 2019 she made her debut in the Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz of the Vienna Burgtheater as Cissie in the world premiere of How do you hide an elephant? based on the novel The Great Elephant Chase by Gillian Cross .
