Gerti Drassl (born April 13, 1978 in Eppan near Bozen , South Tyrol , Italy ) is an Italian film and theater actress .

Life

Already during her school days she took classes in classical ballet . After graduating from high school , Drassl first studied art history in Vienna until she was accepted into the Max Reinhardt Seminar there in 1998. Here she finished her acting training in 2002. Since 2002 she has been part of the ensemble of the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna. She also appears regularly on other German-speaking stages as well as in film and television productions. Gerti Drassl has already received several awards for her performance. In the literary adaptation The Diary of Anne Frank , which was filmed in the spring of 2015 and was released on March 3, 2016 plays Drassl Miep Gies , to the helpers of the rear building belonged to Jews in hiding and after their arrest the diary saved.

On September 1, 2016, she played the central role of Ursula in the world premiere of Ödön von Horváth's tragedy Nobody in the Theater an der Josefstadt. Herbert Föttinger staged it , and Florian Teichtmeister played the god of fear Lehmann .
