Die Landärztin is a television film series that was broadcast on Erste from 2005 to 2013 .
The first film in this series is loosely based on the homeland film Die Landärztin from 1958 with Marianne Koch and Rudolf Prack in the leading roles.

The single parent, widowed Munich doctor Johanna Lohmann takes over the country doctor practice of her deceased uncle in Großraming in Austria. Her aunt Marie supports her in this. She gets to know and love the vet Laurenz Hofer. Years later, however, the relationship broke up and she met the horse farm owner Daniel Winterberg.
In each episode there is a completed plot with episode roles, a story about the Bergmeier / Straussberger farming family, as well as a story with the country doctor and her family.
