Elisabeth Scharang
Elisabeth Scharang (born on February 3, 1969 in Bruck an der Mur ) is an Austrian feature and documentary film director , screenwriter and radio and television presenter .
life and work
The daughter of the writer Michael Scharang graduated from a Viennese high school in 1987 and began to study political science , sociology and philosophy . In the same year she began her career at ORF as a journalist and presenter of the radio programs “ ZickZack ” and “ Musicbox ”. Since 1991 she has been designing reports for the ORF television program and directing documentaries. She has been working as a freelance director since 1997. She moderates the weekly live talk show "On According to" in the ORF radio station FM4 and forwards over a year, alternating with other presenters in ORF 2 the club 2 . Since May 2011, Scharang has also moderated the talk show “Ö1 Nachtquartier” (Tuesday to Thursday) on Radio Ö1 , alongside other moderators .
The multimedia project about alternative ways of working, Kick Out Your Boss , was filmed in 2014 on locations in three countries - Serbia, Brazil and Austria. In 2015, she told the story of the murderer and port writer Jack Unterweger as a feature film, the film Jack was nominated five times for the Austrian Film Prize and was awarded the Thomas Pluch Screenplay Prize 2016 for the best full-length feature film.
