Karl Goldblat

Karl Iro Goldblat (* 1948 in Vienna ) is an Austrian artist and author .

Life

From 1968 to 1972 Karl Iro Goldblat studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna. From 1972 to 1990 he was a participant in the commune experiment Friedrichshof (commune) , which was initiated by the Viennese actionist Otto Muehl , artistic director in the various city groups, performance artist and educator . After the commune ended, he has been living in Vienna again as an artist since 1995. In the 90s he was the initiator of the art space "Brasilica" together with Theo Altenberg and presented new artistic positions there. With Theo Altenberg and Alexander Gutsch he also ran the band project “Name”. He is a scriptwriter. With Elisabeth Scharang he wrote the script for the ORF production Franz Fuchs - Ein Patriot .
