Florian Teichtmeister (born November 4, 1979 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor .

After graduating from high school , Florian Teichtmeister completed the Max Reinhardt Seminar , where he worked with Karlheinz Hackl , Klaus Maria Brandauer , Artak Grigorjan and Samy Molcho , among others . By the time he graduated in 2004, Florian Teichtmeister could already be seen on several Austrian stages, including as Ferdinand in Kabale und Liebe at the Volkstheater and as Achilles in Kleist's Penthesileia .

In addition to this theatrical activity, he started working in front of the camera, where he made his debut in Arthur Schnitzler's play in the dawn by Götz Spielmann in 2000 . Later he played in Tatort episodes and films such as: Courageous in the New Times (2006; Director: Harald SICHERITZ ) and Disease of Youth (2006; Director: Michael Haneke ). In 2004 he could be seen in Natural Selection, directed by Claas Ortmann .

In 2002 he received the Karl Skraup Prize as the best young actor for the Austrian premiere of “ norway.today ” by Igor Bauersima , in 2004 he was nominated as a shooting star for “Romy” and in 2005 he received for his performance of Mozart in Peter Shaffer's Amadeus the audience award of the Bad Hersfeld Festival .

Florian Teichtmeister has been a member of the theater in der Josefstadt's ensemble since 2005 . Since 2007 he has been teaching as Artak Grigorjan's assistant at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and since 2012 he has been teaching role design at the Max Reinhardt Seminar.

In the summer of 2010 he played Hamlet at the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Festival. In 2010 he also shot the two-part television film Missing under the direction of Andreas Prochaska . In 2013 Teichtmeister gave the glue in Johann Nestroy's Lumpazivagabundus (director: Matthias Hartmann ) at the Salzburg Festival and at the Vienna Burgtheater .

In the literary film adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank , which was shot in spring 2015 and was released in cinemas on March 3, 2016, Teichtmeister plays the SS-Oberscharführer Karl Josef Silberbauer , who arrested the Jews who went into hiding in the Secret Annex after the betrayal.

On September 1, 2016 he played the cripple Fürchtegott Lehmann in the world premiere of Ödön von Horváths Nobody , directed by Herbert Föttinger at the Vienna Theater in der Josefstadt .
