criticism

“Katharina Böhm creates a credible balance between a smart policewoman and a (desperate) woman. […] Fortunately, 'The Boss' is better than the way she is marketing. Katharina Böhm plays the main character with many edges and lots of sex [...] "

- Daniela Zinser : Spiegel Online , February 24, 2012

“What is surprising, however, is how Ertener achieves an irritating ambiguity. Under certain circumstances, not everything in “Die Chefin” is as it seems typical on Friday evenings. The fact that Vera Lanz has a peanut stick, has an unconventional private life and lets her conservative daughter Zoe [...] raise her gives the character color, but the continuous subplot is more promising [...]. "

- Heike Hupertz : FAZ , February 22, 2012

“[...] the establishment of a continuous secondary narrative line pleasantly sets the series apart from the crime fiction. You can also feel that the main characters will only gradually reveal themselves to the viewer. "

“Vera Lanz doesn't use a lot of words when dealing with colleagues. When interrogating her, she doesn't just take suspected perpetrators, but also witnesses. She is suspicious, not a commissioner to be pleased with, a rather difficult boss who doubts herself and the world. And because that is the case, she constantly needs food for the nerves and nibbles nuts. "
