Chief Public Prosecutor

Senior Public Prosecutor (OStA) is the promotion office of a public prosecutor in Germany . The incumbent is usually a department head at a prosecutor or as a department head at a General Prosecutor's Office operates.

As head of a public prosecutor he leads the technical supervision over the prosecutors of his department and worked particularly outstanding process itself. As a department head at a General Prosecutor's Office it is either for submitting revisions or rights complaints to the Court of Appeal responsible or assist the Attorney General in the supervision on the district Prosecutors belonging to the General Prosecutor's Office.

The office is paid according to grade R2 .

In Austria, the senior public prosecutor is the official title of the public prosecutor working for a senior public prosecutor. The head of a senior public prosecutor's office bears the official title “Senior Senior Public Prosecutor”, the first deputy head of the Senior Public Prosecutor's office has the official title “First Senior Public Prosecutor”.
