Antonin Svoboda (* 1969 in Vienna ) is an Austrian film director and producer .

Life

Svoboda studied art history and theater studies at the University of Vienna from 1988 to 1990 . From 1991 to 1997, he studied directing at the Vienna Film Academy and founded in 1999 together with his classmates Barbara Albert , Jessica Hausner and Martin Gschlacht the coop99 film production . He directed short films, social and commercials before making a name for himself as a feature film director with Spiele Leben (2005) and Immer nie am Meer (2007).

Antonin Svoboda is married to the film editor Joana Scrinzi , with whom he has two children.
