The Halicreatidae are a jellyfish - Family from the order of trachymedusae .

features

Halicreatidae have (usually eight) wide radial canals, a circular manubrium and a circular mouth with no discernible lips. At the edge there are numerous tentacles of different sizes, but of the same structure, the part of which is turned towards the body is movable, the spike-like end piece stiffens. Club-shaped sensory organs also sit on the edge.

distribution

The majority of the species contained can be found in all oceans, only Botrynema ellinorae is restricted in its distribution to arctic waters.
