Botrynema ellinorae is a jellyfish - kind from the family of Halicreatidae . It is found exclusively in arctic seas.
features
Botrynema ellinorae has a diameter of up to 25 millimeters and has eight wide radial canals, on the outside of which the oval gonads can also be found. In each octant (the eight body sections) there are two groups of 11–12 tentacles , in a circle around the edge there are another eight individually standing tentacles. There are 3 club-shaped sense organs placed between the groups of tentacles. The umbrella is of medium thickness and conical semicircular, slightly thickened at the tip, but an extension at the tip is missing, which distinguishes it from Botrynema brucei .
