Botrynema is a genus of jellyfish from the family of Halicreatidae with two types.

features

Botrynema have a diameter of up to 25 millimeters and have eight wide radial canals, on the outside of which the oval gonads can also be found. In each octant (the eight body sections) there are two groups of 11-12 tentacles , in a circle around the edge there are another eight individually standing tentacles. There are 3 club-shaped sense organs placed between the groups of tentacles.

Botrynema brucei is found in all oceans, Botrynema ellinorae is limited in its distribution to arctic waters.
