Thomas Zampach (born December 27, 1969 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German former soccer and American football player.

Career

After completing an apprenticeship as a toolmaker , Zampach became a professional football player at 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 1991 . From 1998 to 2000 he played 31 games in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt and scored two goals. He also played 164 games in the 2nd division for FSV Mainz 05 and Eintracht Frankfurt and scored eleven goals. Zampach caused a sensation when, after winning the championship in the second division in 1998, after beating SC Fortuna Köln 4-2 in the last game of the season , he completed a lap of honor in the stadium naked. From 2001 to 2004 he was a fan coordinator at Frankfurt Eintracht.

Stations as a soccer coach

From the start of the season until the 2009/10 winter break, Zampach was the coach of the second team at SV Wehen Wiesbaden , for which he had already been active as a player and player- coach before and after his professional career, until he was relieved of his duties due to unsuccessfulness. At the same time, he played in the Hessian Association League for FC Schlossborn , where he ended his career as an active footballer. This was followed by a position as assistant coach under Kosta Runjaic at SV Darmstadt 98 . At the end of 2012 he took over the coaching position at the Frankfurt group league club SV 1919 Zeilsheim , which he gave up in August 2013 due to burnout . In the 2017/18 season Zampach coached the group league team FV Stierstadt .

Time after football

As an ambassador for the Respekt! In the 2012 season, Zampach was a guest at American football games at the Frankfurt Universe . During one of these games the idea arose to intervene in active sports as a football player. From the 2013 season he was active as a kicker and occasionally as a punter for Frankfurt Universe and scored his first extra point for them on March 12, 2013 . In 2015 he won the second German Football Bundesliga with Frankfurt Galaxy by Universe . During his active sports career, he rose in two different sports (soccer and football) with his team from the second to the first division.
