Greg Zglinski (actually Grzegorz Zgliński; * 1968 in Warsaw , Poland ) is a Polish film director .

Life

Director and screenwriter. Born in Warsaw in 1968. Former guitarist and bassist in rock formations in Switzerland, where he lived for 15 years. Mime school and drama school in Zurich, language schools in France and Australia. 1992–96 he completed his degree in film directing and under artistic direction a. a. from Krzysztof Kieślowski the Film School in Łódź (PWSFTViT). Winner of numerous awards at international film festivals, including at the 61st Venice Film Festival in 2004 with the Swiss-Belgian debut film "Tout un hiver sans feu" (A whole winter without a fire), which in 2005 was also the Swiss candidate for an Oscar. His second feature film "Wymyk" (Courage), produced in Poland, won top prizes at film festivals in 2011, including in Vilnius, Gdynia and Warsaw. Co-founder and director of the award-winning popular television series "Londyńczycy" (2008/09) and the very well-received crime series "Paradoks" (2012) and "Zbrodnia" (2014), the first television series produced by AXN (Sony Pictures) in Central Europe. In 2015 he shot a feature film in Switzerland entitled "Le temps d'Anna" (Anna's time), which was shown with great success on TSR and ARTE. In the following year he shot the Swiss-Polish-Austrian movie "Animals", which premiered in February 2017 at the Berlinale. He is a member of the Polish and Swiss Film Academy.
