Michael Sturminger
Michael Sturminger (born January 8, 1963 in Vienna ) is a freelance Austrian director and author .
life and work
Since studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna , Sturminger has directed and written for musical theater, drama and film. Since 2014 he has been director of the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Games .
Important productions were created at the Theater an der Wien , the Bregenz Festival , the Vienna State Opera , the Zurich Opera House , the Taipei National Theater and the Salzburg Festival . Artistic encounters connect him u. a. with Valery Gergiev , Ulrich Seidl , Florian Flicker , Cecilia Bartoli as well as with the production and costume designers Renate Martin and Andreas Donhauser .
In collaboration with Martin Haselböck and John Malkovich , the musical theater productions The Infernal Comedy and The Giacomo Variations , which were shown in more than 150 performances from Tbilisi to Santiago de Chile , as well as the feature film The Casanova Variations , which was presented at the 2014 International Film Festival of San Sebastian was premiered.
