Undine Award
The Undine Award was an international film prize created in 2004 and awarded until 2008 for young actors in the German-speaking area . The Undine Award ceremony took place in the Congress Casino in Baden near Vienna during the Baden Film Festival . The Undine Award was set up in cooperation with the state of Lower Austria and the Austrian film distributors .
The award is named after Undine , a virgin water spirit who plays an important role in the spa town of Baden and is artistically represented several times. The story that surrounds the Baden Undine is symbolized by the fountain in the spa gardens. Elements of the fountain can also be found in the statue that the award winners received.
Baden Film Days

The Undine Film Days were primarily dedicated to the next generation of actors in the German-speaking area. In addition to the award ceremony, film screenings, the cineastic quintet and other events were held.
- Screenings:
- All films in which the nominated young actors could be seen were shown in German-speaking cinemas last year. Before the award ceremony, however, they were shown again during the film days.
- Cinematic quintet:
- Five film experts discussed the past cinema season. Each participant put his favorite film or his biggest hate object up for discussion.
- The Undine Award Gala:
- The film days ended with the awards gala which took place in Casino Baden near Vienna. Prominent actors presented their young colleagues with the awards.
