Oktay Ozdemir

Inanç Oktay Özdemir (* 1986 in Berlin ) is a German actor . He gained notoriety in particular through his role as Theo in the movie A Friend of Me .

Life

Özdemir grew up in Berlin and is of Turkish descent. He was a long-time member of the Berlin Cabuwazi circus. Here Özdemir was also " cast " as an actor at the age of 12 , although he had not yet taken acting lessons. Özdemir also writes and stages small theater projects in his spare time. He is socially involved in integrative theater projects and workshops for young people. He is the father of three children.

Özdemir's film career began with a supporting role in King of Thieves (2004) directed by Ivan Fíla . After that he got his first leading role in Jargo (2003). After a small appearance in the two-part television series Zeit der Wünsche (2004), he achieved greater fame in Germany through his role as Theo in the movie A Friend of Me with Daniel Brühl and Jürgen Vogel .

As a film actor, Özdemir often embodies criminal, violent men, according to Jargo also in the later Knallhart (2006) and Wut (2006). In this context, the film review emphasized the actor's realistic performance and physical presence. In 2010 Özdemir proved in SOKO Leipzig in the role of the homosexual, reserved prison inmate Cem Yildiz that he can not only play "tough" guys.
