action

15-year-old Jargo is returning to Berlin from Saudi Arabia after his father has committed suicide. According to his father's ideas, he should “become a man” by his 16th birthday. This includes the so-called “first time” but also a “good friend”. Jargo tries to face the challenges in his new home and to find his way in the hostile environment of a high-rise estate. First he gets to know the sympathetic Emilia, who helps him and would be a potential candidate for the "first time". She reacts with little enthusiasm to his request to get to know other girls first. He feels very strange here and tries to gain respect. He admires the Turkish petty criminal Kamil, who in his eyes is cool and a real guy. The two become good friends. But soon there is tension between Kamil and Jargo, because Jargo tries to get to the mysterious Mona of all people. Meanwhile, Kamil plans to break into the "Filipinos" in which Jargo is supposed to participate. Jargo has now gotten involved with Mona and also got her drugs that she should get away from. Shortly before the break-in, Kamil learns about the rendezvous between Mona and Jargo and out of jealousy he lets him run into a trap.

criticism

The lexicon of international films judged the production to be:

"A youth drama that strives for authenticity in language and attitude, carried by convincing actors, which maneuvers the protagonists confidently through the shallows of the problem-laden script."

At Cinema it says:

"The supernatural mix of teenage fairy tales and social drama told in flashbacks was awarded a prize at the 'Sarajevo Filmfest', but remains far too confused despite the excellent actors."
