Christine Aufderhaar

Christine Aufderhaar (born February 18, 1972 in Basel ) is a Swiss pianist and composer , mainly of film music .

Life and professional history

Aufderhaar grew up in Kaiseraugst . After completing school education and a year at the jazz school in Basel (1992), Aufderhaar completed a classical piano degree at the Lugano University in 1999 before completing a double degree in classical composition and film music composition at the Berklee College of Music in Boston . During her studies in Boston, she received the Richard Levy Award for her compositions and received several scholarships in the USA and Switzerland. She then worked in Hollywoodin various studios with renowned film composers such as Alf Clausen ( The Simpsons ) and Jay Chattaway ( Star Trek ).

From 2004 to 2007 she was a lecturer for film music at the University of Film and Television Potsdam near Babelsberg . Since 2007 she has been working exclusively as a film composer. Aufderhaar lives in Berlin .
