Welcome to Lüsgraf is a German film comedy of director Lars Montag from 2006. In the lead role embodies Sonja Kirchberger the single mother Moni.

action

Moni raises her son Sammy alone in the ( fictional ) Brandenburg town of Lüsgraf. She works as a photographer for the local newspaper. Of course, there are no big stories to report from her city, so she struggles with photographs of the local rabbit breeder association at its competitions, and she also photographs the minor traffic accidents that happen at the local driving school from time to time (whose owner Moni's ex-husband Rüdiger is).

But one day Moni actually senses a big story: The largest employer in town, the Plötzwerke , a manufacturer of electric razors, is on the verge of bankruptcy and is about to be sold. The owner apparently feels compelled to sell his production facilities to a foreign investor. The rumor quickly spreads around the town that this should only happen in order to close the shop completely shortly afterwards, which would result in high unemployment for the region. This is followed by a protest in which the workforce, led by Manfred, the works council chairman, goes on strike at the plant.

Moni goes a different way: Together with other women, they think about how they can make the plant competitive again. The humming sound of an electric razor ultimately leads to the idea that you could try sex toys, because a vibrator hums in a similar way. A marketing idea is also quickly developed: The motto could be: Developed by women for women .

The idea works: The women’s group finds an influential financier in the Japanese entrepreneur Naoki.

Doris Zander produced the film for Studio Hamburg GmbH on behalf of ARD Degeto . The film was shot in Werder , a town in Brandenburg .
