Hannes Jaenicke (born February 26, 1960 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German - American actor , voice actor , audio book speaker , author and environmental activist .

Life

Hannes Jaenicke is the brother of the painter Alexander Calvelli . His parents, Agathe Jaenicke (née Calvelli-Adorno, musician) and Rainer Jaenicke (biochemist), moved with their children from Germany to the United States , where Hannes Jaenicke spent part of his childhood in the city of Pittsburgh ( Pennsylvania ) University his father had a research assignment. In 1969 the family returned to Germany. Jaenicke is also a citizen of the United States .

In Regensburg he attended the Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium and the Albrecht-Altdorfer-Gymnasium , where he also graduated from high school .

He completed his acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . In addition to his work as an actor, Jaenicke is active as a screenwriter and speaker of various audio books , and he also won a scriptwriting grant in the USA.

Hannes Jaenicke can be seen in numerous German television productions. In the American series Highlander: The Raven , he played the role of Bert Myers .

In February 2011 he took part in the Sat.1 production Winter Games of the Stars . Jaenicke also guided through the documentary Bruno, the bear without a passport , which was first broadcast in April 2013.

From 1999 to 2001 Jaenicke was married to his wife Nicole, after which he was in a relationship with the actress Tina Bordihn until 2008 . From 2010 to 2016 he was with a scientist. Jaenicke lives on Ammersee and Los Angeles - Pacific Palisades .

Hannes Jaenicke is committed to animal and environmental protection, including the protection of the orangutans on Borneo . In collaboration with ZDF , he made documentaries about the lives of endangered species such as orangutans, polar bears and sharks . On January 23, 2010, he was named "Shark Guardian of the Year 2010" by the shark protection organization Sharkproject for the program Im Einsatz für Haie .

He is also committed to schools without racism - schools with courage and the Christoffel mission for the blind .
