Mirage - Dangerous Lies (original title: Mirage , English Fata Morgana ) is a French - Canadian - German agent thriller of the European Alliance from the year 2020. It is the first television series that was published by the cooperation platform.

In the tsunami disaster in Thailand in 2004 , the French lost IT security -Expertin Claire her husband Gabriel. Shortly afterwards, under her responsibility, the test run of a Kazakh nuclear power plant goes wrong, whereupon she loses her job. Claire now lives in Abu Dhabi with her 15-year-old son Zack and would like to start a new life there with her second husband Lukas. She is employed by the businessman Al Tarubi.

One day Claire thinks she recognizes her husband Gabriel, who she believed to be dead, in a person scurrying by. To find out what is actually behind it, Claire investigates the matter. She notices from her taxi driver that she is being shadowed. She learns that Gabriel was commissioned by the private security company Asgard to sabotage the nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan. During that time he fell in love with Claire and later used the tsunami disaster to go underground. Asgard now wants to sabotage the Al-Razah research center near Abu-Dhabi. To prevent this, Gabriel asks Claire's help.

To cleanse her reputation again, Claire promises to help him. Claire and Gabriel enter the research facility through a stolen ID when they notice that the facility's network is already under the control of Asgard agents. But Claire can stop the meltdown at the last moment, which means a bitter defeat for the team around Asgard agent Doug. But the agents do not give up, whereupon Claire's family comes into the crosshairs of the agents.

The decision to produce the Mirage series was made at Series Mania 2015. In 2017, a cooperation between the public broadcasters ZDF , Rai and France Télévisions for the production of series was created with the European Alliance . The agent series Mirage was announced as the first joint production, but it was only produced for France Télévisions and ZDF. The series was created in a French-Canadian-German coproduction by Lincoln TV, Cineflix and Wild Bunch Germany. It is the first joint project of the European Alliance. All episodes were directed by Louis Choquette . The script was written by Franck Philippon together with Bénédicte Charles and Olivier Pouponneau . The Arab emirate of Abu Dhabi acts as the location and backdrop . For the first time, a fictional story was filmed in the Louvre Abu Dhabi . In addition to the main shooting in Abu Dhabi, other parts of the United Arab Emirates and Morocco were also shot. Ronald Plante acted as cameraman. Jean-François Bergeron was responsible for the subsequent editing and Christian Clermont contributed to the music.

The first episode of Mirage premiered on France 2 , the main channel of France Télévisions , on February 17, 2020. The German-language first broadcast should take place on March 22, 2020 on ZDF . The six episodes were to be published in double sequence and repeated during the night. The original version and the German-language dubbed version should have been published in the ZDFmediathek on the same day . Due to the reporting on the COVID-19 pandemic , the broadcast date has been postponed to June 8, 2020.
