The Gmina Dąbie [ ˈdɔmbʲɛ ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Kolski of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Dabie ) with about 2000 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality covers an area of 130 km² and borders the Łódź Voivodeship to the south and east . The district town of Koło is five kilometers to the northwest. The river Ner , a tributary of the Warta , is one of the waters .
history
The municipality was formed in 1973 and belonged to the Konin Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998 .
During the German occupation , the places were given "German" names. The Dąbie town synagogue was partially destroyed. Today it is a residential building and is a listed building. A ghetto was established in the city in 1941 .
The Kulmhof extermination camp near Chełmno nad Nerem existed from December 1941 to March 1943, where mainly Jews, Sinti and Roma were murdered in gas vans . A memorial is located in the former "forest camp".

traffic
The main town is located on the major voivodship roads DW263 and DW473 . The A2 motorway runs through the municipality.
The Dąbie service station on the Chorzów – Tczew railway is a few kilometers east of the city.
