Główny Urząd Statystyczny ( GUS ; German: Main Statistical Office) is a central institution of the state administration in Poland with its headquarters in Warsaw .

The agency is responsible for collecting statistical data on both public and private life and was founded in 1918 on the initiative of Ludwik Krzywicki . The CIS reports to the Polish Prime Minister .
