Alexander Calvelli

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alexander Calvelli (born August 13, 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German industrial painter . He lives and works in Cologne.

style

Calvelli is known for his apparently photorealistic , but often also subtly alienated representations from the world of industry, mining and shipping. It depicts both production and shutdown plants in a purely aesthetic view that renounces any ideology and interpretation. In doing so, he makes the otherwise hidden fundamental elements of our industrial society visible, but also sets monuments for those working environments that are on the verge of extinction.
