The Chemistry in Our Time , also known as ChiuZ for short , is a chemistry journal that is primarily aimed at non-specialists, but also at chemistry teachers.

content

Chemistry in our time tries to present current topics of chemical research in a clear way in a language that is understandable for non-specialists and through easily understandable and colored illustrations. One focus is on the representation of everyday things in a chemical context. A separate section entitled “The Experiment” deals with topics that are particularly school-related, as special topics for chemistry lessons are described here. There is also a “Research Meeting Point” section, where current topics are reported. A historical rubric and a rubric "Curious, Exciting, Everyday ..." complete the content.

The impact factor in 2014 was 0.263. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , the journal with this impact factor ranks 148th out of 157 journals in the multidisciplinary chemistry category.

The journal received two literary awards from the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie (1979 and 2010).

The GDCh supports public schools by financially promoting free access to the online version of the ChiuZ.
