Gudrun Okras

Gudrun Okras (born December 8, 1929 in Berlin ; † July 23, 2009 there ) was a German theater and film actress .

In the early 1950s, Okras began working as an actress on the Berlin Vaganten stage . She played there from 1952 to 1959. She was u. a. engaged at the Dresden State Theater. She performed there from 1977 to 1992. One of her most important roles there was Clytemnestra in the adaptation of the tantalid myth of Euripides . While working as a stage actress, she took on her first roles in movies . She first took on television roles in the mid-1980s. By her death in 2009, Okras had appeared in over 50 film and television productions. She became known through guest roles in Der Alte , Ein Fall für Zwei and Adelheid and their murderers (with Evelyn Hamann ). For now or never - time is money (2000; producer: Til Schweiger ), Okras and her colleagues Christel Peters and Elisabeth Scherer received the Ernst Lubitsch Prize . She became known to a wide international audience for her supporting role in the Dutch Oscar- nominated film The Twins .

Gudrun Okras died on July 23, 2009 after a long and serious illness.

Her son Dieter Okras (1948-2014) was also an actor.
