Angst um Tessa Bülow is a German crime film by Hans Werner from 2002. It is the 244th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 and the 20th case for the Halle inspectors Schmücke and Schneider .

After the disappearance of a girl, the commissioners end up having to investigate a murder case.

action

Sixteen-year-old Tessa Bülow from Naumburg has disappeared without a trace for two days. A concerned citizen finds a sneaker, which she immediately takes to the police station. The site is immediately examined more closely and traces of blood are discovered. With a justified suspicion of a possible kidnapping, the Naumburg colleagues turn to the experts in Halle. Schmücke and Schneider arrive with Rosamunde Weigand, who can secure further traces. Among other things, splinters from a car exterior mirror, which suggests that Tessa could have got into a car here.

To reassure Tessa's mother, Nina Bülow, Schmücke and Schneider let the local police officer Thomas Schweizer accompany them, who also knows the mother a little privately. The officials still assume that the girl only ran away. First of all, Tessa's friend Alexander is asked, who admits to having quarreled with Tessa, whereupon she ran away. When the commissioners come back to the police station, they find a note on their car with the mysterious reference to a fountain figure in the market. You look there and find another piece of paper with the message: "Tessa ran away." Nevertheless, the investigators do not rule out a kidnapping. The next day, Schmücke found another note in the mailbox in the hotel where he had taken up quarters. He leads them into a church, where they find another clue that suggests coordinates on a city map. They follow them and arrive in an empty factory building, Alexander's hiding place, where he often practices playing the guitar. The young man is then taken into custody, but further clues are received that ultimately lead to Tessa's braces being found on the banks of the Saale. Gradually, Schmücke and Schneider have the impression that they are being misled by the perpetrator. But after one last clue, they find Tessa's body in an old sewer shaft. It appeared that the child was already dead when they started their search.

Schmücke and Schneider are now investigating a murder case and come to the conclusion that it must be a first-time offender, as he had led them to the corpse with the news piece by piece. He also seems to have been very sure, which may be due to the fact that he was constantly close to the investigators. Some of the messages may have been printed on a printer at the Naumburg police station. After Schmücke and Schneider take a look at Thomas Schweizer's car and discover a newly renewed exterior mirror, they look him up to question him. Schweizer then collapses and tearfully explains that he accidentally hit Tessa and hit her head on a stone. Once deeply in love with Tessa's mother, he hadn't been able to tell her that he had killed her child.
