Falko Ahsendorf

Falko Ahsendorf (born May 1, 1943 in Thedinghausen near Bremen) is a German cameraman .

Life and work

After high school and internship at Geyer Kopierwerke in Berlin, Falk Ahsendorf attended the vocational school for precision mechanics, opticians and photographers as well as the technical school for optics and photo technology. After some time as a camera assistant, he worked as a cameraman for over forty years from 1970.

At the beginning he worked a lot in the journalistic and documentary field, mainly for the Deutsche Wochenschau GmbH and later for the NDR . He also made many business and industrial films . In the scenic area, he was mainly active in television film and television series productions . He worked as a cameraman in over 48 countries and gained a lot of experience in South Africa and Namibia.

The long list of directors Ahsendorf worked with includes names like John Delbridge , Peter Deutsch , Günter Gräwert , Stefan Lukschy , George Moorse , Heike Mundzeck , Arthur Penn , Max H. Rehbein , Johannes Schaaf , Hans Schott-Schöbinger , Hans Werner and Monika Zinnenberg .

Falko Ahsendorf was a board member of the Federal Camera Association (BVK) for 22 years , including twelve years as president. He has been Honorary President since January 2012 .
