Günter Gräwert

Günter Gräwert (born August 22, 1930 in Memel ; † April 29, 1996 ) was a German actor and director .

After graduating from high school in Schwabing, Gräwert studied painting at the Art Academy in Munich and trained as an actor in Stuttgart. Then he found work as an actor in various German-speaking theaters, a. a. at the Berliner Ensemble Bert Brechts and at the Münchner Kammerspiele .

Movie and TV

Already at this time, after a few experiments as a producer, cameraman and film editor, he began directing, which formed the focus of his further artistic work. His rare feature film productions include Zwei Whiskey and a Sofa with Maria Schell and Caution Mister Dodd with Heinz Rühmann .

Instead, Gräwert worked extensively as a writer and director on television. He directed documentaries, television plays such as Ein deutsches Assentat (about the assassination attempt on the Niederwalddenkmal in 1883) and numerous episodes of various television series such as Tatort , Police Inspection 1 , The Man Without a Shadow , The Old One and Derrick . In some episodes of the latter series he took on guest roles as an actor. You could also see him in the television series Kara Ben Nemsi Effendi , which he himself directed, based on motifs from Karl May , the Tatort film Abendstern and the satire Das Wunder des Malachias .

Günter Gräwert died of a heart attack on April 29, 1996 while driving from Husum to Hamburg.
